Dave chairs the N.C. Environmental Management Commission, in addition to his day job as a professor at the UNC planning school. I had the opportunity to work with Dave for 12 years on the EMC. Carrboro Mayor Mark Chilton and environmental attorney John Runkle co-hosted the event. I was pleased to speak there also with former DENR secretary Jonathan Howes, current Chapel Hill City Council Member Ed Harrison, former Chapel Hill Council Member Joyce Brown, and former Orange County Commissioner Norm Gustaveson, among other good folks. Thanks very much to all for taking the time to talk with me about North Carolina's future. Thanks especially to Dave and Polly, Mark, and John for putting together such an outstanding gathering.
This Sunday, June 24, I'll be in Durham for another campaign meet-and-greet at the home of my friends Joan and Doug Seiffert. If you live in Durham and are on this email list, you will have received an invitation from me to that event as well.
Over the coming week, I'll also be on the road to Carteret County (tomorrow, June 23), Greensboro (June 25), Wilmington (June 26-27), and Iredell County (June 30). See you on the trail!
