This region continues today to deal with tough challenges in generating jobs and economic opportunity, meeting the needs of our people for good education, housing, and health care, and managing their water, farmland, forests, and fisheries for both today and the future. I expect my experience in working on these challenges while living in this region to be a great help in effectively representing the people of Eastern North Carolina as Lieutenant Governor.

I will be back in coastal North Carolina on June 23, participating in a Carteret County Democratic Party rally in the afternoon, and meeting supporters in Craven County that evening.
