Local volunteers are the heart of any successful campaign, and we're now moving into the formal organization of our County Committees.
These committees will be a key level of our grassroots campaign. In fact, they'll make the difference between just coming close—and winning.
My great volunteers and I have been working hard on this campaign for almost a year now already. I'll continue to hit the road around our state, meeting and talking with individual voters, answering people's questions about issues and priorities.
Now I'm asking for your help as an active volunteer. Please let me know if you can help as a member of our County Committee for your home county. This is your chance to act as part of our team in pursuit of our shared commitments—health care access for all, clean water, land, and air, and equal opportunity for all to education and jobs.
If you can help, please contact us at coordinator@danbesse.org.
Here's how members of County Committees can help now:
--Collecting names and contact info for people who should be added to our campaign contact list. (Email addresses are important contact information, as that's how most updates go out.)
--Recruiting local volunteers for canvassing, phoning, and pollworking.
--Setting up a local organizational and meet-the-candidate meeting.
--Working with our campaign staff to set up and publicize a local fundraising event.
If you can help with any of those tasks, please let us know ASAP at coordinator@danbesse.org.
Oh, and don't forget—any time is a good time to send a campaign contribution! Even with great volunteer support, we will need financial resources for our direct voter outreach. It's easy: To make an online gift, just go to http://www.danbesse2008.org/Default.aspx?tabid=163.
Thanks very much for your continuing support!
