That's why I'm delighted to report that we made, and exceeded, our goal for the first half of 2007. As of June 30, our campaign "cash on hand" pushed through the $100,000 mark, to $101,600. Included in that total is over $24,000 in contributions which came in during the month of June alone. Our campaign already has contributions from hundreds of individual North Carolinians, most in amounts of $25, $50, or $100.
Some other campaigns will have more, because they're relying on the deep-pocketed contributors who always give, and who want to maintain politics as usual. For our grassroots-based campaign to break through the six-figure barrier this early represents a sea change in North Carolina politics. It means that people are tired of "politics as usual." They're ready for the real, progressive change that we're advocating for our state. Thank you for being a part of that!
And as always, you're invited to check my website for more background, issue information, and contact information at www.danbesse2008.org. Thanks!
